The Titan

The creature

Inside the creatures cave...

It seemed like the mailbox wasn't reciveing anything so I dicided to turn this into the "creatures" section, this is just a brief look at them. Look at TempleOBAD for in-depth information

What are these creatures?
As I mentioned before, creatures are one of the main features of the game. Your main focuse is to teach these little beast to behave to how you want them. They can become curses or blessings. They too have alighnments like you. You can teach the creature how to eat, and use miracles. Almost like parenting a baby. Its your choice to how you raise them...

Habits
Yes, creatures are not like little robots, they have emotions and habits. Lets start with the diffrent Emotions your creature can show

Emotions

The creatures show emotions to communicate in the game. Some facial, which can be hard to see, so thats why black and white created "creature hwlp" which discribes in words what your creature is doings/thinking.

"Your creature is hungry" (points to mouth)- This is one of the basic emotions, this means oyur creature has a desire for food, not always meaning it's hungrey, maybe its a couch potato
Effects on: Slapping- Your creature will eat less when hungrey, your creature will eat less when low on energy.
Rewarding: Your creature will eat more often ( when hungrey, or low on energy)

"Your creature is tired" (Yawns)- ANother basic emotion, this mean your creature has a desire to sleep/rest.
Effects on: Slapping- Your creature will rest less when it is night, Your creature will rest less when tired, your creature will rest less when having nothing to do (lazyness)
Rewarding- Exact same as above except it will do it more often

"Your creature is Thirsy" (dehydrated)- Your creature needs water, to solve this bring it near the water and it should begin to drink, putting a water miracle over it does not work :)

"Your creature wants to be kind and generous" (jumps up, in joy?)- This means your creature wants to help the villagers, often this occurs when having the leash of compassion on. Depending on the alighnment you want you would either
Slapping: Your creature will be less kind and genorous to those guys
Rewarding: Your creature will be more kind and generous to those sort of guys

"Your creature is angry" ( Beats its chest, looks like its having a fit)- Your creature is enraged by something. This will often come after doing something violent
Slapping: Your creature will be less angrey towards thoses sort of things
Rewarding: Your creature will be more destructive toward those sort of things

" Your creature is frightned" ( knells down as if praying, chatters teeth)- I strongly advice you to slap it. Rewarding it encourages this behavior, and will well..turn it into a wimp. the last thing you want is a mean green butt beating tiger, thats afraid of the dark.
Slapping: Your creature will be less afraid at night, will be less afraid of scarry miracles, your creature will be less afraid of other creatures
Rewardsing: Same as above excepts supports the behavior

"Your creature is curious" ( points, stares, etc.)- This is the most common thing that pops up, this means your creature wants to know what it is.
Slapping: Your creature will be less curious toward those things
Rewarding: Your creature will be more inquisitive

"Your creature is trying to show you its feelings" (cries, yadda, yadda) This often often occurs after a slap.
Slapping: YOur creature will show less feelings
Rewarding: Your creature will show you its feelings more often

"Your creature is being playful" ( Dunno)- Don't have much to say, it means it just wants to play with toys, etc.
Slapping: YOu get the point
Rewarding " "

There is so much more but I need to move on to the next section...

Habits, and creature learning

Yeah, well here we go there are 2 types of habits natural, and made. Natural is things oyur creature is meant to do, maybe something like pooping. Made are habits you forced it to do (lets say gettign it to always eat grain)

Natural- Pooping: Your creature needs to get rid of waste like we do right? So..you can direct it to what you want it to poo on

Throwing things behind back/dropping: YOur creature if it is not intrested in an item will either drop it or throw it behind its back, You cannot change this

Made: Basically all emotions can be turned into a made habit. Such as always fireballing a village, or helping only your villages...

Creature learning
A creature learns from its god. By performing an action in front of it it is learning that it should do the same, almost like a shadow.

Learning Miracles
Yes, the creatures can hold the godly power of using miracles, withour needing mana from villagers! To teach a creature a miracle put it on the leash of learning and perform the miracle in fron of it. It should point, and a lightbulb will go over its head with a percent (meaning how much it has learned of that miracle) Note that when its on the leash of learning it will imitate every action you do. So if you want it to always burn a village store, burn a village store in front of it. When it reaches 100% the creatrue will sooner or later perform it. Reward it, or slap, depending on what you want it to do.

You can also teach a creature a miracle, by handing it the miraclebubble while its on a leash. This way if you but it on the aggresion leash, when you hand it the bubble, it will know that that miracle is to be used when angrey. Know that this only works on some miracles. (only simplified) You cannot teach it increase, or extreme miracles through this way ( it will just learn the simplified version)

Learning actions
This works just like miracles, perform whatever you want in front of its face, and it should point (no lightbulb though)

Extra Extra!: If your creature does not seem to pay attention, zoom into it, do nothing, then zoom out, there should be something that says " Your creature wants to mess with you" Reward it. But don't over reward it other wise, whenever you pass it, it will stare at you stopping it from finishing its work (pretty annoying)

The leashes
Since we were talking so much about learning I decided to kick on info about the leashes. This is how you tame or influence your creature, you can make it follow you or change its alighnment. You first learn about these through Sabel.

The leashes are located in your creature pen. You can easilly activate one by a=making the gesture (bottom corneer) or hitting the button "L" which will activate the leash. To change leashes press "V"

Leash of Compassion- This is the milti colered fluffy leash, this will alter your creatures behavior to helping and being kind and generous. Leaving this on does not change its alighnment, only influencing it to do an action that might change its aluighnment. Leashing it to the totem will cause it to run around helping villagers

Leash of learning- This is the leash that looks like a rope. This will cause your creature to imitate whatever you do. when its on this leash it will act neautrual, making it do a mix of good/evil.

Leash of Aggresion- This is the black spikey leash. This does the exact opposite of the leash of compasion. This will alter your creatures behavior to act aggresive. It will kick, use evil miracles, etc. This can alter its alighnment through actions. To start a battle you must use this leash and attach it to an opponent

To leash a creature to an object, double click the item. by holding th leash you can lengthen, or shorten the leash. TO unleash it press "L"

You thought we forgot about creature battling?

Probally one of the best compatibilities Lionhead created, your creature can go into combat and fight other creatures. You learn about this from the "guide" on land 1. I will give you some info on this...

The point of battling
The point of battling is to either attack, or defend, a territory through creatures. Your creature will fight if an opponent challenges it. Often this will bw incountered, online, and when you enter an enemys territory..Did I make sense? Probally not so lets skip this...

I want to battle!
There are 3 things yyou need to know about battles, attacking, defending, and dogeding, are the basics. Lets begin

Attacking
To start a battle leash the leash of aggresion to an enemy creature, the 2 creatures should taunt each other, and a ring will appear. Which ever creature starts the battle will have its alighnment drop a bit. If the enemy does not seem to fight, it is most likely, it is almost faint, or the owner is leading it away from battle. Once you are in a battle on the top left corner a meter will appear with your creature name, and the opponents, with 2 bars each. the top one stands for health (once it reaches 0, you lose) and the bottom stands for energy (needed to cast miracles, and specials. To attack, right click the enemy where you want your creature to attack. It should hit there, and will most likely take an ammount of health off, know that you must think fast, and the battle is not all offensive...

Defending
Defending is used to block an attack. It just reduces the power of health taken abay. To block, click on your creature where you want it to block. IT should do so...

Dodgeing
To dodge an attack right click on the ground it should sidestep/run over there, often good to avoid specials

The star gesture, and miracles
First the star gesture, the star gesture is your creatures "special move" where it will do an attack that is approximatly double the ammount of a normal attack. The star gesture is labeled at the bottom right corner, follow its movments soon if your creature has enough energy it will show a gesture of a star on the ground, and it will soon attack. These attacks are extremly powerful, and each creature has its own one. Know that these take time...

Miracles
Same with a star gesture you cn use only certain miracles which are
-Lightning basic
-Fireball basic
-Heal Basic
-Strengthen creature miracle

When you start a battle they are labeled at the bottom right hand corner. Follow these and it will perform a short movment to activate it. Be carefull though, an enemy can attack and stop your creature from performing the miracle. These 2 can take time, and take energy...

Learning
A creature can learn combinations in battle if often used, often referred to as "uncontrolled battles"
